About Bologonya Under Canvas Safari Camp

No frills, no fuss, just good old fashioned safari
This no nonsense mobile camp is focussed on an authentic bush experience. It has three locations within the Serengeti, depending on where the Great Migration moves - the Southern Plains (December - March), the Western Corridor (June and July), and the Northern Mara (August - November). Despite its focus on functionality, comfort is still king, ensuring a relaxing stay. The rustic feel ensures that nothing distracts you from the majesty of the Great Migration as you explore remote and enticing corners of the Serengeti.

Property details

The property

No matter where you find yourself in the Serengeti, this camp will ensure you feel totally immersed in the sights, sounds and unique earthy scents of the bush. The communal mess tent is intimate but comfortably appointed. Once again, simplicity reigns. But then again, it’s the simple things in life that make the best memories - like spending the evening chattering around a popping campfire before enjoying a private dinner under the stars.

The rooms

Bologonya Under Canvas has ten en-suite tents, laid out to maximise privacy. In keeping with the rustic nature of this camp, the tents are a simple affair without compromising comfort. Simplicity aside, each tent is a little canvas sanctuary - a retreat from the midday sun, a spot to rest your happy head, or the perfect place to delve into a book from the small camp library as you wait for the bush to unfold on your grassy doorstep.

Activities

As with most mobile camps in the Serengeti, activities revolve around game drives. These are done in traditional open-sided safari vehicles, specially equipped to deal with the terrain and give you the best vantage point, to survey your surroundings for wildlife. The experienced guides know just how and when to approach the various animals, ensuring the guests and animals remain safe and happy. In the North, local village visits add a rich cultural dimension to the safari experience. At an addition cost, a hot air balloon excursion provides an aerial view of this landscape.
