About Nomad Entamanu

A tented camp perched on the precipice of the Crater with views to the Serengeti.
Entamanu teeters on the north-west rim of one of the world's most iconic natural phenomena, Tanzania's Ngorongoro Crater. Uniquely perched to exploit the beauty of both the southern Serengeti plains and the plummeting crater below, this lodge has dramatic views, literally, all around. The lodge is accessible by road from Arusha - even the drive is its own adventure, hugging the crater's contours. Breathtaking landscapes aside, this is one of the premier wildlife destinations in the world, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site to boot. The area is home to the regal Maasai people, known for their rich history and hunting culture. Everywhere you look there's something utterly remarkable.

Property details

The property

Erected as a here-today-gone-tomorrow camp, Entamanu is built with sensitivity in mind... think minimalistic luxury. Relax in the communal area adorned with soft, comfy couches and splashes of vibrant African colour, before meeting at banquet style dinning table surrounded by chairs - the perfect spot to meet and discuss the days safari excitement.

The rooms

Six wooden bungalows comprise the intimate accommodation at Entamanu. Each is appointed with an en-suite bathroom and deck with its own phenomenal view over the plains or plummeting crater below. Heated for the chilly winter months, breezy during the humid summer months, plush beds throughout the year - you'll feel exquisitely at home whenever you visit.

Activities

Plunge into the crater for morning adventure, accompanied by your guide. Take a picnic and enjoy a peaceful lunch beneath the shade of a fever tree. Head back for a relaxed in-camp afternoon where sight-seeing needn't require much effort. Prepare for an afternoon walk in the highlands with your guide, and perhaps a visit to a local Maasai community.

Each space in the camp is comfortable, cosy and impeccable in its design, yet every structure is completely removable leaving not a trace on this beautiful environment...
Insiders tip

Insiders Tip

The drive into Entamanu is quite long, but it’s definitely not an opportunity for a nap! Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife along the way, in particular long-lashed giraffe, which are actually absent from the crater itself.
Something to think about

Something to think about

The height of the camp lends itself to some rather high winds! If you think fluttering tent flaps will detract from your night-time zzz’s, ear plugs are provided – but it can get noisy up there.
