The main lodge is huge, with an imposing air. Ornate, Victorian-style furnishings are combined with leather Chesterfield couches and African ornaments: an eclectic mix. Spend a quiet moment in the cosy library before enjoying a five-course lunch or dinner on the terrace. End the afternoon sipping cocktails, while you watch the fiery African sun dip below the horizon and your feet dangle in the infinity pool. Spa lovers, there is a sauna, Jacuzzi and steam room for your attention.
Epacha's spacious chalets are centred around huge, sumptuous beds and French doors that open onto a large private balcony: the best spot to enjoy a morning cup of tea (or coffee), with incredible panoramic views of the private game reserve below. Bathrooms are en-suite and stylish with double basins. After a day of activities, lounge for hours in a steaming hot bath, or if you're feeling a little more daring, jump under the refreshing outdoor shower.
There are few things better than a 'spa-fari' and this lodge is right up there with its pioneering Mystique Spa. The spa has five treatment rooms, with everything from deep tissue massages to exfoliating body wraps, as well as a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Day and night game drives are offered, with the possibility of seeing some of the reserve's rare wildlife: bat-eared foxes, aardwolves, hyenas and even cheetahs. Day trips to Etosha (1-hour's drive away) are highly recommended.
A safari wonderland, where plentiful waterholes amid the salt pans attract even more plentiful game.
