About Erebero Hills

Gazing across the famous forest, adventure and luxury collide at this designer lodge.
Made iconic by the families of wild mountain gorillas (it's home to over half of the world's total population), Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is a thrilling landscape that embodies adventure. Opening in June 2026, Erebero Hills will become the latest base from which you can go gorilla trekking – and what a base it is. Perched along the forest's northern fringe, Erebero means 'a place where you can see far', and the lodge really makes the most of the sentiment with enormous, curving walls of glass offering uninterrupted views. The lodge also seeks to protect its wild home with an ambitious reforestation project, benefiting both the wildlife and the local Batwa people.

Property details

The property

Mirroring the undulating hills occupying its eyeline, the lodge's design includes plenty of curving roofs and walls built primarily from sustainable materials. Right at the front of the property, there is an inviting pool and shaded deck, where you can while away a few hours in between activities. The main area enjoys the same sweeping views and houses a library and information centre, a sunken fireplace and a lounge and dining area where you'll enjoy meals prepared with ingredients from the surrounding communities and farms.

The rooms

Occupying their own private corner of the hillside, there are eight suites (including two triples). Each has a handy boot room at the front door, which leads through to the bedroom and lounge area. Entirely glass-fronted, the suites enjoy plenty of natural light and those views that seem to go on forever. Private balconies offer another perch from which to enjoy them. The bathrooms have a large tub (with a view, of course) and both indoor and outdoor showers. There's also in-room wifi.

Activities

First and foremost are the unforgettable gorilla treks on offer. After a hike, varying in length from one to a few hours, you'll spend an hour in the presence of a family of these magnificent primates. Slightly 'gentler' but equally as fascinating activities include nature walks in search of the plentiful birds and butterflies, garden tours and tea tastings, reforestation walks, and visits to the local Batwa community for activities like beadwork, weaving, and candle or soap making. Of course, simply sitting and taking in the scenery is time well spent too.

It has to be the view... We'd go as far to say it's one of the best in the region.
