Amidst tropical gardens filled with frangipanis and dancing palms, you'll find breezy pavilions with varied menus. Breakfast is a continental buffet accompanied by a glass of Buck's Fizz and for dinner, seafood is a major feature. The bar has a true island vibe and sits conveniently next to one of two pools, which are well-adorned with comfy day beds. The spa hovers over Evason's water gardens and offers a range of soothing treatments, all topped off with steaming herbal tea served in the thatched pagoda.
Evason has 74 semi-detached rooms in large villas scattered throughout the gardens. Their peaked roofs and columned verandas give each a traditional feel, while the interiors are laidback and uncluttered. Each room has a King-sized canopy bed, as well as a pillow menu with an impressive 16 choices. The view ranges from garden to sea-facing, and some villas sit right on the beachfront. The bathrooms are semi open-air with a waterfall shower and stone bathtub. Rooms are very spacious, but the suites also benefit from a lounge and private garden.
Get your island kicks on the water - there's island hopping, snorkelling and sunset cruises - or in the jungle - hike to see the grand White Buddha, swim in the pools below the Ba Ho Falls or even mountain bike. Otherwise, enjoy a conical hat making classes, stroll through the many markets, or a visit to the hot springs. There's never a dull moment and when the sun drops, be on the look out for street food evenings with traditional music filling the air.
