Ikuka Safari Camp

The central communal area invites visitors to lounge about and take things slow. There's a fully stocked bar, comfy lounge area, airy dining space and the upstairs library is a bookworm's delight. The swimming pool, perched on the edge of the outside deck, offers uninterrupted views across Ruaha and is the perfect spot to unwind after a day of wildlife watching. All aspects of the lounge and dining areas have been carefully crafted to create a home-from-home feeling - and they've hit the nail on the head!

Ikuka's stone and thatch bandas are rustic, but with every luxury you could want, from 24-hour electricity to piping hot water. Each offers super-sized king beds draped in pure cotton linen, and plenty of storage space for traveller paraphernalia. There's also a detached bathroom with double vanity, and a mini lounge area. Outside, there's an inviting veranda with those incredible views again - throw open the mesh doors and curtains to make it the first thing you see in the morning.

Aside from the on-site activities like reading, swimming and soaking up that beautiful view, Ikuka offers fabulous game drives in Ruaha National Park. Guests with a passion for game photography are invited to join Mark on a drive, where he will provide easy tips on how best to capture highly sought-after wildlife shots. Walking safaris are a particular highlight here too, so leave plenty of time for an exploration on foot of the incredible park.
