About Inzolo Lodge

A clifftop refuge where dramatic landscapes backdrop sophisticated lounging.
Tucked into a secluded valley and surrounded by imposing rock formations that look like they've been carved by particularly artistic giants, this intimate lodge proves that sometimes the best seats in the house are the ones with the most dramatic views. With just four suites positioned to capture every nuance of the valley's natural theatre, Inzolo offers the kind of exclusivity that makes you feel rather like you've discovered your own private corner of Africa. The stone-clad architecture pays proper homage to the rugged cliffs that frame the property, whilst the thatched roofs add a touch of traditional elegance that somehow makes the whole ensemble look like it's grown naturally from the landscape itself.

Property details

The property

The main lodge capitalises on those uninterrupted valley views with a lounge and dining area that flow effortlessly into the landscape. The immersive outdoor dining area takes alfresco meals to new heights – quite literally – whilst the sweeping terrace serves as a magnificent observation deck for wildlife watching. The pool area, surrounded by those dramatic rock formations, provides a stunning contrast between the rugged natural environment and refined luxury. Everything has been designed to maximise the connection with the valley's raw beauty whilst ensuring you can appreciate it all in considerable comfort.

The rooms

Each of the four suites has been positioned to offer complete privacy along with those coveted panoramic bush views. The spacious interiors feel both intimate and luxurious, with private viewing decks that extend your living space directly into the wilderness. The en-suite bathrooms are particularly impressive affairs, featuring his-and-her basins, generous bathtubs, and those rather clever enclosed showers that somehow manage to provide secluded views whilst you're washing off the day's safari dust. Mini-bars, coffee stations, and reliable Wi-Fi ensure modern convenience, whilst the overall design maintains that essential connection with the dramatic valley landscape that makes this location so special.

Activities

Though Rockcliff Farm is quite small, Inzolo has traversing rights on nearby Lalibela Game Reserve, which is much bigger. This means you may well come across elephant, lion, rhino and buffalo on your excursions as well as a host of antelope species and a plethora of birds. As much as this is a game lodge, it's also a place to indulge in a gourmet menu, and relax beside the pool with a sundowner or two. The staff here are superb.
