Often served right on the beachfront, meals at Jeeva Beloam are family-style and guests are encouraged to spend the time mingling. There is a regularly-rotating dinner menu with dishes prepared with farm-fresh ingredients and of course, the catch of the day. The main area has a small library stocked with novels and local history books and traditional Indonesian massages are offered on the beach or in the privacy of your beruga. There's also a focus on sustainability and the camp is entirely solar-powered and uses recycled rainwater.
Perfectly placed to make the most of the ocean view, the berugas are all constructed from recycled wood with thatched roofs and bamboo furnishings. Spacious and with King-sized beds draped in mosquito netting, all have lovely indoor-outdoor living spaces too. Bathrooms are modern and partially open to the elements and there are beautiful, bespoke Jeeva Resorts toiletries to enjoy. Some rooms are further from the beach whilst others have direct access, but all of them guarantee a front-row seat to some of the best sunrises on Earth.
The camp sits within a nature reserve, which you can explore on foot, keeping your eyes peeled for monkeys, civet cats and the splendid birdlife. Rise early to watch the sunset over the mountains of Sumbawa and the Alas Strait, or make the journey to the top of Tanjung Ringgit – you may even spot whales breeching. Take a short walk to Teluk Temeak to enjoy a session of snorkelling or surfing in the crystal-clear water, or take a boat to the tiny island of Gili Sunut for a day in the sunshine.
Visit the remote south for hidden beaches and stunning landscapes that are mercifully free of tourists.
