Simple spacious and elegant is the best way to describe the communal spaces of Kiba Point. Built from stone and cement with a thatched floor to ceiling roof, there are plenty of spots from which to marvel at the scenic views ahead. The lounging space has plump pillows furnishings, dark wood tables and shelving, as well as plenty of traditional African artworks and collectables. The dining area is large with an enormous table in the centre, surrounded by chairs. Enjoy relaxing with a book from the library (under one of the ceiling fans!) or on the viewing deck.
The four private suites of this camp have been built around the expansive waterfront views, and showcase the rolling landscapes of Nyerere. Luxurious and comfortable, the rooms come complete with double or twin beds covered in a four-poster mosquito net. The edgy colours and design are complemented by the sturdy writing desk and hardwood furniture. Ensuite bathrooms are sumptuous and you can choose from al-fresco or in-fresco showers. Outside, each raised concrete deck has a built-in plunge pool and a couple of recliner chairs, perfect for whiling away the siesta hours.
Known for its high quality of guiding, dont miss out on any of the many activities offered here. Game drive is the core activity, taking your explorations to areas further afield, in search of those speciality species like the wild dogs. Ideally combine walking safari and a night of fly-camping in the wilds. Boating provides the opportunity to explore the winding Rufiji River and Stiegler’s Gorge. There is also the option of a little fishing and the relaxing hot springs of Tagalala.
