The dining room is at the heart of La Manigua, and guests often gather to learn about the day's plans and swap stories from daily adventures. A team of chefs prepares a hearty breakfast each morning, which includes fruits of the forest and fresh juices. Delicious dinners are served in the rustic central atrium or on the terrace. Consistent with their eco-friendly ethos, lunch comes wrapped in banana leaves and is often enjoyed out and about. The central area also has a bar and wifi.
Wooden walkways lead you through the forest to your uber-private, stilted cabin. All are understated and rustic yet very stylish. There are three family cabins all with a double bed, two singles and additional children's bed as well as a net suspended above the forest floor – the perfect spot to snooze or look out for wildlife. There is also a duo of couple cabins and a deluxe bungalow, which is furnished with a King-sized bed and indoor hammock. Other amenities include open-air showers as well as biodegradable toiletries.
There are a number of excellent activities to enjoy at La Manigua Lodge, and an array of day itineraries on offer too. Options include making the boat journey up the Guayabero River before hiking to the Mirador lookout point and bathing in the pools of Cano Cristales. There is also a plethora of hikes to destinations including the Ciudad de Piedra, a rock labyrinth full of incredible formations, and the Laguna del Silencio, where you can explore by canoe.
Surround yourself with nature's grand symphony in the pure wilderness of the Amazon.
