The property

The first impression you'll get when arriving at Macaron is the tranquil oasis-like feel of the gardens fringed with magnificent oak trees. Guests can relax in the cosy lounge or out on the sun deck next to the swimming pool. A deep shaded terrace and bar area opens onto the lawns, with stunning views of the surrounding Franschhoek Mountains. Breakfast is served indoors next to the fire on chilly mornings, or on the sunny veranda.

The rooms

Nine en-suite twin or double rooms face out over the gardens and their magnificent mountain backdrop. They’ve been individually decorated with subtle differences in the furnishings and crisp modern finishes, giving an overall feel of stylish country comfort. One room has a small kitchen and can be joined to the adjacent room via an interleading door – perfect for families. Upstairs, the vast loft suite has a private balcony, and the downstairs rooms have small patios leading directly on to the lawns.
