The Georgian architecture of this lovely B&B is well suited to the area and very beautifully maintained. Upstairs, there's a colourful breakfast room, complete with opulent wall paper, wing backed chairs and a glittering chandelier, in which to enjoy your eggs and bacon. Outside, the swimming pool area is set in a verdant, landscaped garden and there are several sun loungers for topping up your tan, or tables and chairs scattered around in the shade.
There are eight tastefully-decorated bedrooms, and we highly recommend booking a spacious superior room, and definitely one with a garden patio or balcony for al fresco tea and coffee first thing in the morning - there's nothing better, after all! The king-size beds (or twins) all have percale linen, and some are four poster, and all rooms have air conditioning, satellite TV, WiFi and a tea and coffee station. In the Annexe you'll find polished wooden floors, a sunny patio and private pool.
The owner is very helpful with information about what to do in the area, and assisting with restaurant bookings. Both Foliage restaurant and the Bon Vivant are within walking distance, but you'll definitely need to book in advance! The wine tram is highly-recommended as a fun way to visit some of the surrounding vineyards and also worth a visit are the coffee shops and galleries in town, like Art in the Yard, that exhibit the work of talented South African artists.
