The main hub at Manjarano Lodge has a warm simplicity to it with tall, wood-panelled ceilings and a cosy glow provided by a central open fireplace. The Alocasia serves a variety of international and local dishes, which change with the seasons. The bar is an intimate spot to enjoy aperitifs and the lounge is just right for reading a book, playing a round of billiards, or getting stuck into a board game. The spa is a delight and uses only organic amenities, most of which come from the local Falierana distillery.
Perched along the grassy banks, the villas have an idyllic view of the lagoon and forest. All interiors are decorated in neutral tones, with plenty of tan armchairs and bronzed coffee tables dotted around, and white linens on the King-sized canopy bed. Bathrooms are open-plan and feature deep stone tubs, showers and double vanity counters. Each villa also has a TV and Wi-Fi but we have a feeling you'd rather be on the private balcony, relaxing and taking in the scenery.
On arrival at Manjarano Lodge, you'll get a sense of the adventure that awaits. Exploring can be done on by canoe, horseback or on hikes into the forest to spy cartoonish lemurs, chameleons and plentiful birdlife. For something different, visit the nearby Falierana essential oils distillery before enjoying their products at the spa, or play a few rounds at the local golf course.
