Property details

The property

A large central tent forms a simple communal area for the camp. Its style can be described as eclectic comfort and fuss-free simplicity. The dining setup is rather elegant, complete with the romantic glow of hurricane lamps to light the faces of your fellow adventurers. If the weather plays ball, the table is set up outside under the stars. The lounge is rustic but comfortable, with views of the unspoilt surroundings. Evenings are best spent socialising around the campfire while listening to the background symphony of the invisible locals.

The rooms

With only ten en-suite tents, privacy and exclusivity are a given. Mara offers all the necessities and luxuries of a mobile tented camp, and manages to strike a unique balance of feeling homely yet wild. The tents are dispersed well to ensure uninterrupted views. The interiors are very spacious with king-size or twin beds that are positioned to look out at the splendid views. This means you can sip your morning tea or coffee from the comfort of your cosy bed as you survey your kingdom and dream of another day in sunny Africa.

Activities

Game drives in the Serengeti provide more than enough action and excitement for one lifetime. If hot air ballooning is a dream of yours, there’s no better place to tick it off your bucket list. Between the months of June and November you can sail the skies in a colourful bulb. A truly priceless experience. There’s also the chance to tuck into a well rounded breakfast in the heart of the bush or salute the sun with cocktails amongst the wilderness. Both can be arranged for private parties or groups. Relaxing with a good book from the small private library is also always a good idea.
