About Naibor Camp

Romantic tented camp in Masai Mara.
On the banks of the Talek River (overlooking a permanent pod of hippos) in the heart of the iconic Masai Mara Game Reserve is the romantic Naibor Camp. Spacious beige tents with arched openings and contemporary safari furnishings are set along the banks of the river, creating excellent views and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. At night, the sound of lions roaring and hyaena chuckling will permeate your dreams. The Great Migration is undoubtedly a huge drawcard in this part of the Mara and the wildebeest can be spotted from the end of July to around October, crossing the river practically in front of camp, but there are superb wildlife sightings on the table year-round so really, you’ll never be disappointed.

Property details

The property

Naibor is like stepping inside the safari version of a Bedouin tent! Under a draped canvas ceiling, the lounge tent has two beige sofas, a handmade wooden coffee table and plenty of bean bags to relax in, as well as superb views of the river. Meals are taken either in a group or privately, and you can even eat out on the deck overlooking the river. There’s also a central point for charging electrical devices, WiFi, and an outdoor fire pit where you can enjoy a drink and some snacks when the sun goes down.

The rooms

The seven tents are set apart so you really will feel like you’re the only person in the bush. There's ample room inside each and a lovely seating area at the front. In the ensuite bathrooms, hot water is supplied for bucket showers (about 5-minutes’ worth), and you can choose to cleanse your weather-beaten mug at the sunny washstand outside or at the glam basin inside. In addition, all tents are mosquito free, you’ll get a hot water bottle at night (in the chilly season), and the toiletries are environmentally friendly.

Activities

If you’re here for the migration, try a full day safari with a packed lunch. Otherwise, morning and afternoon game drives are the name of the game and always fruitful. We love that coffee is delivered to your tent as a wake-up call and the bush breakfast served on the morning safari is an experience not to be missed! Back at camp, you’re sure to meet Janet, the friendly masseuse, and if you’ve always dreamt of going on a balloon safari over the Mara, chat to us and we’ll help you arrange it.
