No matter where it is set up in the Serengeti, Ndutu will immerse you in an authentic environment and submerge your senses in the sights, sounds and scents of Africa. The communal mess tent is comfortable, simple and intimate. It’s all about the pristine surroundings and feeling close to nature. Here, one of the best ways to unwind is to stare into the dancing flames of the campfire while breathing in the earthy evening air. Thereafter you can indulge in a private dinner under the stars or within the cosy mess tent.
Ndutu Under Canvas has ten, spacious en-suite tents, each with more than enough room to breathe and move freely about. The strategic placement of the tents allows for uninterrupted views and the perfect amount of privacy. Simple, yet uncompromising on comfort, the camp is rustic in nature with wrought iron and wooden furniture, woven mats and neutral earthy tones. Each tent offers an escape from the heat of the day and comfort in the cool of the night without creating too much of a barrier between you and your wild surrounds.
The main activity at Ndutu, as with most camps in the Serengeti, is game drives. These are conducted by friendly and knowledgable guides, in traditional open-sided safari vehicles that maximise your viewing potential. Private picnics and sundowners can also be arranged. These take place in remote areas of the bush, creating an experience miles away from anything you have ever encountered before. In the Mara region, village visits add a rich cultural facet to the safari experience, with the opportunity to learn about and meet the local people.
The organisation supports various community projects, including the de-snaring project in the Serengeti, medical care solutions like the Olmoti Clinic in Western Kilimanjaro, and educational opportunities like the Emusoi Centre in Arusha. Additionally, initiatives like the Children’s Health Program in Nairobi and contributions to Wildlife Management Areas and Tanzania National Parks underscore their commitment to community well-being and environmental conservation.
