In 48 acres of palm-studded gardens, the Oberoi Sahl Hasheesh is a palatial resort and the picture of seaside bliss. With their striped walls, the suites are scattered across the grounds, each with uninterrupted views of the Red Sea. Speaking of which, these waters hold an incredible collection of marine life and you'll have the chance to see it in full technicolour while diving along the reefs. It may be tempting to never leave your lounger nestled on the private beach, but there is a desert to explore on horseback and islands to discover on an idyllic cruise across the bay.

Bold yet refined, the Oberoi's design pays homage to its roots with neoclassic columns and Moorish arches in the dining room, to the wood-framed Pergola by the pool. Don't miss out on the white chocolate and black pepper cheese cake while you're there! Offering a varied menu of Indian and Middle Eastern dishes, Zaafran overlooks the courtyard where traditional musicians play the night away. In between adventures, grab a cocktail at the sunny, poolside bar or head to the spa for a Pharaoh's massage.
Cool and collected, the suites are all decorated in warm woods and sandy tones. Tapestries and papyrus lamps remind you where you are, and there's also a pillow menu (yes please!) to accompany the enormous bed. Suites open onto peachy terraces, and some have a private pool flanked by pinstriped loungers and a dining pavilion. The bathrooms are spacious with a rainfall shower and sunken tub. The Royal Suites are the grandest with a large living room, fully-stocked pantry and plenty of outdoor reclining space.
The large and very private beach takes care of your relaxation needs, whilst being blissfully close to world-class diving and snorkelling spots. There are even night dives for the truly adventurous! Hike to the top of Shaieb El Benot Mountain for out-of-this-world views, ride camelback through the desert, or stroll through Old Hurghada's bazaars with a bevy of stalls to turn your head. For a more quirky day out, visit a fish foot spa along the Marina, or learn the art of carpet making with a local artisan.
The beach is just fabulous: it's long and peaceful, there are more than enough sun loungers, and the views are divine.
There is plenty going on for the kids, from the club house with a variety of games to cooking lessons, star gazing, and treasure hunts.
The spa only has one masseuse so be sure to book early!
An ideal beach finale to an Egyptian adventure, combining world-class diving and fabulous hotels.
