As one of the finest junk boats in the bay, Paradise Peak has a polished but understated style. A fusion of Western-Asian specialties (the seafood takes first place) are served at your venue of choice - the dashing restaurant, the open-air deck or enjoyed in the privacy of your suite. La Parfum Spa offers the royal treatment of massages and body wraps. The rooftop bar is ripe for a sunset cocktail and beside the billowing sails, sun loungers provide a cushy spot to enjoy the view or a book from the library.

Each cabin is bright and stylish with massive linen-clad beds and wall-to-wall picture windows to enjoy the changing vistas. Decorated with painted scenes of Vietnam, the cabins come with a large TV and dining area, and all but the Junior Suites have a spacious balcony with rattan recliners. Before you embark on an adventure across the bay, join the chef for a lesson in Vietnamese cuisine. Depending on the length of your stay, the activities vary. First up, is a visit to a local pearl farm, then it's time to hit the caves. Sung Sot is the largest and one of the most famous in Halong Bay, where the colourful 'Opera House' lies at its centre. Day 2 is a whirlwind of mystical caverns, floating villages and a hike to the peak of Ti Top island. Of course, there's swimming off private beaches, kayaking and fishing in between.
