If there's one thing you've got at Ras Kikadini, it's space. The dining and living areas are large and airy, with en eclectic mix of custom-made and up-cycled furnishings, natural woods and local materials, an antique-wood dining table and a driftwood chandelier. Double-volume thatched ceilings and plenty of windows create an illuminated central space, and folding doors lead onto the gardens. The house is pet friendly, so Fido can come too.
A total of 11 people can sleep in the funky and freshly designed rooms, 2 of which are en-suite. Each has its own distinct style, with large beds, retro furniture and modern fittings. The three downstairs rooms have French doors opening up onto the gardens and enticing views of the ocean, while the upstairs loft has billowing local materials draped in a cascading seascape of blues and greens: a little haven for two extra people or children.
Get used to the fact that you have your very own small beach right on your doorstep. There are plenty of snorkels and masks to explore the rock pools, soak in the warm ocean, or simply laze on the sun loungers on the outside cliff top. Further afield, take a day trip to the waterfall at Shimba Hills National Park, go snorkelling at Kisitie Marine Park or experience the restaurants and ocean activities at popular Tiwi and Diani beach.
Sip cocktails at sunset and chill-out in style in Kenya’s most sophisticated beach paradise.
