Samara Karoo Lodge

This tastefully decorated farmhouse is representative of its Karoo roots. The black and white colour palette of the guest lounge is contemporary. Here you can enjoy a cup of tea on one of the comfy couches or a nightcap after dinner. The dining area is elegant with white tablecloths and silver service. For the hot summer days there is a swimming pool and for the chilly winter nights, the fireplaces in the lounge and dining room add warmth and atmosphere.

There are a few different room types at the lodge. They all embrace the colonial-style farmhouse ambiance but have been elevated to a five-star experience with elegant furnishings, four poster beds, antiques and stand-alone bathtubs. If you’re looking for something a little more “African”, book the Sibella suite with a wooden deck overlooking the waterhole.

Samara is passionate about wildlife and conservation and the rangers share their enthusiasm with guests making an invigorating safari experience. Head out on morning and evening game drive with your ranger where you could see plains game and some of Africa’s impressive creatures like the lightning-fast cheetah, endangered rhino and mind-bogglingly tall giraffe. Enjoy bush picnics and ‘cheers-ing’ to another successful day in the bush from a scenic koppie.
