The property

Samode Safari Lodge is made up of independent villas which all lead back to the main communal area. Here you'll find the swimming pool and plenty of lazy loungers to soak up the sun, a library packed full of gripping reads, and a spa where all your cares can be massaged away. On top of that, expect first-class dining each day, with a changing daily menu and your choice of dining spots - the main restaurant, a deux in your room, al-fresco by the pool, or even a picnic in the surrounds are just some of your options.

The rooms

There are 12 standalone villas to choose from, each exactly the same quality as the next. Hand-crafted using traditional moulded bricks, all are very spacious, with a separate lounge area, bedroom, dressing room, ensuite open-air bathroom and outdoor private veranda with a staggering view. And the best part? The outdoor bath. How could you ever say no to a night time dip under the stars?

Activities

The drawcard of Samode has to the superb daily safaris. Every morning and evening, you'll head out by 4x4 to explore the Bandhavgarh National Park in search of its wild inhabitants and of course, the chance to see some orange stripes. Experienced guides will make the jungle come to life as they recant stories of the past, listen out for tell-tale calls of local animals, and help you spot exactly what you came for...
