About Saruni Wild Camp

There's something surreal about being in the heart of the Mara
All Saruni camps are designed to give you an intimate and private stay that allows you to capture the very essence of the landscape they occupy, be it a wildlife reserve or on the edge of the Indian Ocean. Saruni Wild is no different. Located conveniently close to Mara North airstrip and the entrance to the Masai Mara National Reserve, the camp is embraced by the wilderness and its wealth of wild creatures, which roam beside the tents. So if you're looking for an exclusive camp in the heart of the action, Saruni Wild is for you.

Property details

The property

Almost hidden within its forest setting, the central area is the place where guests gather for drinks, dinner (the cuisine is mouthwatering) and sit around the fire listening to the Masai warriors' tales and watching their proud and leaping dances.

The rooms

There are just three tents, so the camp is often taken up by just one group of family or friends. The suites have been furnished with flair by the camps' Italian owners, who have also turned to local designs for their inspiration. Each tent has large mosquito-netted beds, an en-suite bathroom with flushing toilet, hot and cold water, a large shower and a veranda that looks out to the vast open clearings of the ecosystem.

Activities

Activities here are identical to those offered at other Saruni camps. Day and night game drives, good birdwatching, foot safaris, hiking to the top of Kilelioni – the highest peak in the Mara–Serengeti ecosystem, enjoying sundowners and meals in the bush, and brushing up your animal-tracking and other bush skills at the Warriors' Academy. It's a good destination for children.
