About Serengeti Bushtops Camp

A stylish tented safari camp in Tanzania’s remote northern Serengeti
A recent addition to the world of northern Serengeti safari camps, Serengeti Bushtops sits along a low ridge, facing out across the game-strewn plains. Space and luxury are the name of the game here, and each tent is perfectly situated for the utmost privacy. In fact, it's a one-kilometre walk from the first luxury tent down to the last, so it really is just you and the wildlife. Speaking of which, game viewing is excellent year round, but especially from June to November when the annual wildebeest migration is on the doorstep. Luxury and fabulous wildlife? What's not to love.

Property details

The property

The main guest area is a huge open-plan canvas tent on a raised timber platform, with a dining room, library and a sunken lounge around the central bar and fireplace. Sleek lines, fresh natural colours and the soft glow of polished wood are beautiful, and the styling is elegant without being too elaborate. A short stroll from the main tent is a stunning swimming pool carved out of the rocks, with a sun deck and secluded sala, just made for an afternoon with a good book.

The rooms

Bushtops has twelve incredibly stylish canvas suites on raised timber decks. The interiors are chic and uncluttered, with a classic safari palette of natural colours, solid timber furniture, and vast beds beneath romantic swathes of mosquito net. Ensuite bathrooms have super-soaking rain showers, and each tent has a private deck with a hot tub – there's nowhere better to relax and soak up the views in complete privacy. Two of the rooms are interlinked, and perfect for families.

Activities

Expect to see elephant, buffalo, prides of lion, leopard and cheetah, and large numbers of plains game on the early morning and late afternoon game drives. Guided bush walks will give you a chance to stretch your legs and explore the wilderness on foot, and the birdwatching opportunities are excellent. During the Great Migration, witness the unforgettable spectacle of the wildebeest herds crowding along the Mara River banks, preparing to brave the treacherous waters and hungry crocodile (June to November).
