Property details

The property

The first of its kind, Serengeti Safari Camp is a leader in the field of mobile camping, changing location to follow the movements of the migration (it won't move during your stay). The camp is pleasantly small, with a large open-sided tent containing the lounge and dining areas leading out to a campfire. The atmosphere is convivial and the food very good, catering for everyone.

The rooms

In keeping with the rest of this mobile camp, the six tents are simple but comfortable with good quality furnishings. Spread out, away from the central area ensuring privacy and a feeling of bush immersion. Each tent comes with double or twin beds and a leather topped writing desk. The en-suite bathroom has a eco-flush toilet and bucket shower, with hot water a moment away. Beyond the tent flap are two director's chairs, foot rests and depending on location, views of the plains or into a wooded thicket.

Activities

Game drive, game drive and more game drive. This is the perfect method of exploration when following the Great Migration and with all the excitement of crocodile infested river crossings to incredible big cat hunts, there is no shortage of action in this neck of the woods. Take advantage with a packed lunch, spending a full day in the bush or find a picnic spot with a view. If you just feel like relaxing, watch the wilds unfold from your tent with a book from the small library.

If you have the time, ask your guide to take you in the opposite direction of the crowds to see the Serengeti's other creatures.
Something to think about

Something to think about

Almost all of the main migration areas can get busy with vehicles during their peak – don’t let it put you off, but just be warned that you’ll probably see other wildlife-watchers during your stay.
