About Singita Serengeti House

The ultimate Serengeti hideaway
During a quiet moment, while sitting on the wide, shady verandah overlooking the golden Serengeti savannah, you’ll feel immense gratitude for where you are: the luxurious villa you and your friends have called home; the 350 000 acres of protected wilderness on the Grumeti concession; the kind and attentive staff and the sense of deep rest you’ve experienced. And in this quiet moment, a rustling will steal you away from your thoughts. A grey ear pokes into your peripheral vision and a herd of bull elephants emerge, sauntering up to the nearby water hole for a drink.

Property details

The property

Take an opulent colonial-era African residence and fast forward to the 21st century. This is what South African design mavens, Cécile & Boyd, have had a hand in creating at the exclusive-use estate. It’s a hybrid design of countryside indulgence and African nouveau. A large dining and lounge area, set in the neutral palate of the surrounding landscape, opens onto a stone terrace and expansive wooden deck with contemporary furnishings overlooking the plains and 25-metre lap pool.

The rooms

Two of the four beautifully decorated guest rooms can be found in the main house and the other two are in garden suites alongside. Homely and private, it would be easy to spend a morning in, enjoying the view from your king size bed with a cup of freshly brewed coffee. Indulge in a bubble bath in your stand-alone tub or an enlivening private outdoor shower in the morning sunshine.

Activities

The abundant wildlife is truly the star of the show at this Serengeti outpost. Head out on game drive, walking safari or even on a horse-riding safari (if you're of a good riding standard). To help you unwind there are pampering in-room spa treatments. If, after all the wining and dining you want to get your circulation going, challenge your mate to a game of tennis on the private court or do some languid laps in the swimming pool.
