Property details

The property

The stonework and wooden panelling pay homage to traditional Bhutanese architecture, whilst the cool-as-a-cucumber interiors will ensure you'll never want to leave. Jangkho will also have you dreaming about staying forever with its delectable menu drawing influence from across the globe but with a focus on locally produced ingredients. And if all that weren't enough, there's a spa with a enviable list of treatments and an indoor pool to soak away your cares.

The rooms

Whilst not a small lodge by any means (there are 82 suites and villas to choose from) Six Senses Paro still manages to maintain a sense of tranquility. The suites and villas are all head-in-the-clouds fabulous with wide reaching views right across the Paro Valley. Stylish, neutral tones only add to the sense of relaxation and the traditional wood burning stoves will be sure to keep you warm in chilly weather. And don't even get us started on those bathtubs...

Activities

There's no shortage of spectacular local hikes but the ultimate has to be the sunrise trek to the most famous of cliffside monasteries, the Tiger's Nest. Those looking for a more relaxing cultural experience, head to the 15th century Samtenling Monastery to light a butter candle and take a moment of reflection. Foodies will enjoy foraging for local mushrooms (in season) and adrenaline junkies can take in the valley in style with a private helicopter flip.

Insiders Tip

The restaurant, Jangkho, is nothing short of spectacular but if you want to kick things up a notch book a candlelit dinner next to the 12th-century Chubjakha Ruin and dine amongst history.

It's only 30 minutes between the hotel and the airport but we promise you won't notice - and it's a good excuse to book a helicopter transfer to really take in the scenery!
