After said hearty breakfast, spend the morning soaking up the sun by one of the three swimming pools, shades on and book in hand. The Gregoire is usually booked on a bed-and-breakfast basis, but the team will happily prepare you a light lunch and sumptuous dinner if booked in advance. In the evening, retreat to the ever-stylish lounge and sink into the leather sofas with a drink from the bar. We can tell you that the wine selection is magnificent!
The eight rooms at The Gregoire are light and bright, and modern yet reassuringly old fashioned - think vast wooden four posters, thick curtains and plush carpets. All are beautifully decorated in soft, muted tones whilst unique Objects du Art bring each room to life and exude old world Victorian charm. The ensuite bathrooms are spacious and fresh; all have showers and some have enormous, freestanding tubs too. Finishing touches include a complimentary fruit bowl, a selection of Nespresso coffees and some seriously lovely toiletries.
Delight in the Hemel-en-Aarde valley - where the rich soil and perfect climate produces award-winning wines - with a unique wine tour, or take a gentle stroll along the famous Cliff Path, keeping your eyes peeled for whales, dolphins and seals. There are plenty of coffee shops and quirky boutiques in Hermanus to keep you busy too, and if adventure is your thing, there's sea kayaking and diving with great white sharks nearby - but best do those before the vino!
