About The Oberoi Beach Resort Lombok

In a blissful corner of North Lombok, you'll instantly fall in love with the Oberoi.
With views stretching out towards the idyllic Gili Islands, the Oberoi occupies a prime stretch of beach in the relatively undiscovered northeast coast of Lombok. You'll find the villas and pavilions scattered throughout the lush gardens, some with their own private pools. But worry not if your room doesn't come with its own, as a stunning, 40-metre, tree-framed infinity pool surrounded by shimmering reflecting pools and beautiful poi fish ponds takes centre stage. When you're not lounging in the beautiful grounds, head down to the Beach Club to enjoy the watersport of your choice or venture into the highlands for a scenic hike - and then return for a drink as the sun dips below the horizon.

Property details

The property

Throughout the resort, there's an amazing array of authentic Indonesian masks, arrows, stone tools and shields on display, creating a real sense of place and history. Food-wise, the resort shares the same executive chef as the Oberoi Bali and its menus are superb. Enjoy scrumptious breakfasts at the Sunbird Cafe and dinners at the airy Lumbung – the Lombok-style grilled lobster is always a favourite. The Tokek Bar is an easygoing spot to enjoy a cocktail or glass of wine, delve into a new book or simply enjoy the view.

The rooms

Dotted around the property, either with garden, pool or ocean views, the Oberoi has a collection of pavilions and villas built out of coralline rock and with traditional thatched roofs. The bedrooms are all air-conditioned and feature four-poster teak beds, while the bathrooms are soothing and spa-like with sunken baths overlooking private courtyards. Some villas also have an elevated dining pavilion overlooking the Bali Sea. There's also a two-bedroom villa with a large pool and ideal for families.

Activities

If you're looking to spend as much time in the water as possible, the Beach Club is the place to go and has everything you need for snorkelling, kayaking and paddleboarding. The resort even has its own PADI dive centre! Otherwise, head to the stunning Gili Islands for a day, stopping at popular snorkelling spots and visiting the sea turtle sanctuary along the way. On land, hike into the surrounding countryside and cool off beneath cascading waterfalls, then recuperate with an authentic Balinese treatment of your choice back at the resort.

Something to think about

The pavilions are a more affordable alternative to the Oberoi's villas and, while they aren't as spacious, they are still a lovely choice.
