The Farmhouse has a huge open-plan lounge and dining area, with gorgeous views of the Zambezi from the shaded veranda and outside dining terrace. The interiors are cool, their crisp white walls the perfect showcase for the owners' collection of colourful local paintings and intriguing sculptures. Squashy leather couches, gently worn Afghan rugs and chunky practical furniture give a warm lived-in feel that’s extremely family friendly. Lush gardens and the infinity pool make this the ultimate riverside chill-out spot.
Four comfortable bedrooms, designed with families in mind, have a cheery fuss-free style that makes you feel at home right from the start. Both doubles are en-suite with a bath and shower, and superb river views. Two twin rooms open into the gardens behind the homestead, and these each have a separate shower and toilet along a short hallway. All have fans and air-conditioning, drapes of mosquito nets, and electric blankets for chilly winter evenings.
A private boat and river guide is at your disposal for early morning and afternoon cruises, perhaps with a spot of fishing for bream and tigerfish. Take a guided bird walk, or visit the local village. Spend at least a day exploring Victoria Falls and Livingstone, and, if you're up for it, plunge into the ravine on a bungee jump or gorge swing. Not for you? Simply relax in the swimming pool, watching the river slide past your private paradise.
