The center of the hotel resides around a lovely central dining that serves as both the bar and kitchen with fresh thatch roofing and open sided to allow the cooling breeze through. Seating cut into the sunset hued concrete that lines the outside of the cottage provides the perfect sundowner spot. Comfy and plush cushions sequestered you ever so slightly from your fellow guests. Follow the paths down to a intimate pool area lined with bright bougainvilleas.

Four cobbled-stone walled cottages are spread around the grounds, perched on their own cliff heads to maximise the views for days. Traditional hand crafted Swahili beads, large and plush, lined with flowing white mosquito nets and scattered pops of colorful Kenyan fabrics. Ornate window frames, authentic Swahili furniture exude tasteful lightness. Each rooms has double showers, the honeymoon suite a sunken bath for extra romance. Finally a large deck with commanding views will be hard to tear yourself away from.

Tijara is all about relaxing as much or as little as you wish, but with the sound of rolling seas and tropical breezes you might find yourself slowing down more than you expected. Lying back in the sun by the pool listening to the sounds of the local birds and the ocean might be all you need. The energetic can try snorkeling, meeting the fishermen on the beach or a cave walk. Excursions to nearby attractions can always be arranged.
