Titilaka is all about contemporary flair and the chic décor is mixed with Peruvian colours and crafts and artwork by local artisans. Outside, the 1.6-hectare grounds burst with local shrubs (another green initiative undertaken by the hotel) and boast the most incredible of views, and outdoor wrap-around terraces and an overwater deck and boardwalk beckon guests to relax and take in the surroundings. Indoors, there’s plenty of lounging space as well as a small shop and massage treatment room. The cuisine is authentic and delicious, and the fully-stocked bar houses a large regional wine cellar.
The hotel’s 18 spacious rooms are absolute heaven. Partially open plan, they feature high-quality linens and local furnishings, and freshly-cut flowers add to the elegance. The beds are huge, the bathrooms are oh-so spacious and well-equipped (most offer showers and separate bathtubs), and all have heated floors, complimentary minibars, blackout curtains and beautiful banquettes by the large windows. And the views! Choose between dawn or dusk facing views over the lake or opt for one of the corner rooms to get the best of both worlds.
Titilaka is all-inclusive and there is an amazing range of excursions on offer, all led by knowledgeable guides. Explore Inca and pre-Inca ruins, take a boat out to visit the floating reed islands of the native Uros, or visit local mainland communities and marketplaces. Travellers seeking adventure can hike or bike across the natural paths surrounding the hotel or even kayak or paddle into the reed beds and the lake. There’s something for everyone and unforgettable memories are ensured.
