Property details

The property

The sandy pathways that lead from the chalets join together at a large, central A-frame thatch makes up the main dining and lounge area. Brightly cushioned, low lying fold back chairs provide a communal seating space, steps lead down to a further seating area amongst the brush.A simple bar area leans against creamy colored sloping walls that encase a further upstairs lounge area and spiral stairs ascend into the rooftops for some scenic views over the river and hills beyond.

The rooms

Constructed to blend into the the natural surrounds and using only locally sourced materials Tongole four thatched roof suites and two family chalets are tremendously spacious and well appointed.Crisp white sheets, polished red concrete floors, exopsed rock, marble basins and sunken baths that open up to magnificent views add a subtle level of luxury.A wooden deck with rustic branched balustrade and ornamental wrought iron shutters looks out over the Bua River, perfect for daytime wildlife watching or nighttime star gazing.

Activities

Due to the poaching big game in the area is quite skittish amidst the thick forest and rugged terrain. There are plans for 500 elephants to be introduced into the park by 2017 along with other game species to build up the species diversity of the park. There is still plenty to do from game drives, fly-camping, fishing, canoeing and motor boat trips. A highlight is walking with armed guards through the reserve and birders will get their full.
