What to do in Cardamom Mountains

As their name gives away, the Cardamom Mountains are embedded in swathes of these fragrant trees and lush rainforest. On any given day, you can hike or cycle into the forest, which is home to 55 rare species of wildlife including Malayan sun bear, clouded leopard, Siamese crocodile, pillated gibbons and Asian elephants - it's one of the only places in Cambodia to see them in the wild! Other pursuits include spelunking, kayaking on the river, ziplining and hiking to find hidden waterfalls. End the day on a magical note with a sunset sail as the fireflies put on quite a show.

Mokoro & canoe safari

Drift through a wild paradise
The beauty of a safari is the variety of ways you can watch wildlife. Once you’ve walked alongside zebra and rubbed noses with a lion (from a vehicle!), you might think you’ve run out of options. Then along comes the mokoro safari. The quintessential Okavango experience, there’s not much that can beat a lingering float through the lush delta waterways, especially if there are G&Ts involved. Not in Botswana? Then head to Zambia for kayaking at Vic Falls and canoe trips along the Zambezi, or to South Africa to kayak among whales. Game drives are so last year.

Hiking

Oh the places you’ll go!
Is there a better way to get a feel for a new destination than exploring on foot? We think not! Walking (or hiking) offers the chance to venture off the beaten track and enjoy sights the likes of which you might not normally see. From trekking along the Inca Trail towards Peru’s Machu Picchu to wandering beneath the spires of Torres del Paine, roaming between Berber villages in the Atlas Mountains or hiking up the iconic Table Mountain, the adventure never stops when you’ve laced up your boots and left the crowds behind.

Active

Keep your heart rate high – Timbuktu style
While we’re advocates for some good R&R, we also believe in adding some adventure to any trip. Across our multitude of destinations, there is always the opportunity to get ‘active’ and explore on foot, bicycle, horse or camelback, hot air balloon or microlight (and many more). From treks through Chilean Patagonia to walking safaris in Zambia, kitesurfing in Zanzibar to canoeing around Halong Bay, there is an endless array of activities to dive into.
