A trio of tiny, tropical isles waiting off the northwest coast of Lombok, the Gili Islands are Indonesia at its barefoot, laidback best. Your days will be spent soaking up the sunshine on a white sand beach, snorkelling or scuba diving with dazzling marine life — turtle sightings are basically guaranteed — and getting to know the locals on a walkabout (there are no cars allowed — bliss!). Each island offers something a little different but it’s wonderfully easy to hop between them by boat so you never have to choose.
