Paradise Plains

Masai Mara

8 Rooms

Eight suites, one river, zero rush - this is the Mara at its most patient.

Paradise Plains isn't a made-up name - it's the actual stretch of savannah the camp sits on, a stronghold for lion prides tracked by wildlife film crews for decades in the Maasai Mara's Musiara sector. The Wilder Group opened here in August 2025, right on the Mara River, with just nine suites: eight luxury doubles and one family suite, each with its own lounge and a second bathroom built around a deep copper bathtub. Think antique auction rather than safari-chic showroom - kilims, bone china, a proper wine cellar - with days built around game drives, hot air balloons and sundowners on Leopard Hill. New, but it doesn't act like it.

Lerai Safari Camp was built slowly throughout 2018 to allow the wildlife breathing space to co-exist with us. Enveloped within a cluster of acacia trees (Lerai means yellow and Olerai describes the acacia tree), there is a nearby riverine forest stream drawing elephants towards camp. The ten safari suites make use of canvas frames, with interiors that express the beauty of traditional East African safari style. They are stylish and supremely comfortable, yet unpretentious, with a genuine sense of real Africa safari. Lerai serves as a sanctuary for you to restore balance to a life that is often too busy. A good dose of Africa Time and African hospitality will soon have you feeling rebalanced and renewed.
