What to do in Puerto Natales

Puerto Natales is an ideal springboard into more adventurous pursuits including the incredible trails of Torres del Paine National Park, watching condors ride the thermal winds from Cerro Dorotea, and boat trips through the Chilean fjords, passing crackling glaciers and pockets of forest. The town is also a fantastic place to get your breath back with a boutique beer or visit the Museo Historico for a lesson on the history of Patagonia's original people.

See the iconic Serrano & Balmaceda Glaciers

The Balmaceda Serrano Glaciers Tour is the most popular navigation of Puerto Natales, a full day discovering one of the most iconic places in Patagonia. You will visit the two most impressive glaciers in Chile aboard a magnificent cruise: the Balmaceda and Serrano glaciers. During the navigation, you will see sea lions, cormorants, waterfalls, and more! You will disembark in the Bernardo O'Higgins National Park for a walk to the Serrano Glacier viewpoint and you can walk the trails that run in the forest. When you return to the ship you will be offered a glass of whiskey with millenary ice from the glaciers, a cup of coffee, or a warm cup of tea. You will have lunch at a traditional Patagonian estancia and return to Puerto Natales.

Take in Puerto Natales on an e-bike adventure

The E-bike route offers a thrilling adventure through stunning landscapes. Today’s ride is along a private reserve not open to the public who frequent the Natural Monument Milodon Cave. We begin with a smooth, moderate ride bordering Cerro Queso (Cheese Hill) where we continue riding to a beautiful view of the Sofia Lagoon. On clear days we can see Paine Grande and other surrounding peaks set off among the far reaching fjords.

Summit Cerro Benítez and see Andean Condors

A transfer will pick you up at around 10am in your accommodation, and the you will head to Laguna Sofia, where you will join today guide in a small briefing. Then you will hike towards the summit of Cerro Benítez to witness the majestic Andean Condor and other Patagonian birds like eagles, woodpeckers, and falcons. Here you will have a small snack while photographing the incredibles views. The excursion unfolds along a moderately challenging trail that blends native forest with incredible views of Laguna Sofía and all its surrounding mountains. The trek lasts approximately three hours. You will be back at around 14:00pm.
