If you like your heart in your mouth and your adrenalin levels somewhere around pumping, you’ll probably feel quite at home in Storms River. Leading the activity charge is Bloukrans, the world’s highest bridge bungee jump at a staggering 216 metres, and only a few minutes by car from Storms River. With zip-lining and the chance to enjoy the Sky Walk underneath the famous bridge, it’s not just for avid bungee-jumpers – but don’t forget your nerves of steel. For something slightly less terrifying, head for the treetop Canopy Tour in the Tsitsikamma Forest and zip around the evergreen canopy on a series of steel cables strung between the trees. Back on land, the adventure doesn’t stop. In this section of the Garden Route National Park, the trees are so big they look otherwordly, and a walk through the forest will lead you past fanciful orchids and enormous lilies, across a 77-metre-long suspension bridge at the yawning Storms River Mouth, past pristine beaches and shy antelope, and even offers the chance of spotting dolphins and whales from the shoreline at the right time of year.
