Just booked our 2nd trip through Timbuktu. Dealt with Tessa on both occasions and could not recommend her enough. She has adapted our trip 2 or 3 times to get it right and right it is. Timbuktu have great relations with their local providers and they all responded to questions within 24hrs.

I’ve planned several trips with Timbuktu—Southeast Asia, Tanzania, Kenya, Egypt, and Uganda—and each experience has been incredible. The planning process is seamless, and I truly appreciate the companionship and insights from the travel specialists. Meg, in particular, is fantastic. She’s always on top of everything, from the initial planning stages to the trip itself and even after we return. I highly recommend traveling with Timbuktu!

Joanna Rigby-Jones and Nadine Levers have been excellent sources of suggestions, bookings, and ideas to help our family plan the trip of a lifetime to start in Kigali, Rwanda to experience the Gorillas and other primates, then on to the Serengeti plains in Tanzania for the big 5! Our daughters will join us so Joanna and Nadine have been extremely informative and helpful regarding visas, vaccines and flights. After our girls return to the US, my husband and I will continue to South Africa to be based in and around Cape Town for more nature, culture, wine and art. Finally, they're helping us plan a final leg of this heavenly journey to Mauritius for some R&R, surfing, diving, swimming with dolphins and perhaps surfing for my husband. We are grateful for their accessibility and swift responses to our questions. We're confident in Timbuktu Travel's network to provide a world class experience! 5 stars!

My wife and I decided in early February to “escape” the winter snow and travel to South Africa for a “bucket list” trip.We didn’t give Jonty and the Timbuktu team long as we had a relatively narrow window for our travels.Incredibly in less than two weeks,Jonty had fully planned a fabulous 15 night adventure including an internal flight,a safari,luxury train travel,wonderful accommodations,and all our transfers.Every aspect of the trip was meticulously detailed and our whole trip went exactly as planned.Jonty and his colleague,Millie, were available whenever we had any questions and organised everything brilliantly. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them and will definitely use them again for our next big adventure.

Annie was our travel consultant and she was excellent! She answered all questions in a timely manner and provided top notch service. She guided us throughout the entire process and I will boldly say everything came together without one hitch or issue! Everything! We had three very different parts to this adventure and we were “handed off” to new guides/drivers in a very professional and efficient manner. There was not one thing I’d ask for differently. Timbuktu is definitely the best agency I’ve worked with and from this point on the only one I will use!!!

From her first email, Joana treated us as family. She asked thoughtful questions and offered responsive suggestions. She helped us design a perfect trip. She curated site to meet our desires and found us a perfect tour guide who ensured we enjoyed all of the experiences we had hoped for. I have already recommended Timbuktu and Joana to friends and will continue to do so. Much much appreciated!

Jenna was great handling the lodging, and Bekim from Exito travel was great handling the flights. I would use Timbuktu and Exito for future trips.
