My fiance and I reached out to Timbuktu to start getting an idea of how to get started planning out honeymoon in Africa. Immediately Joanna reached out and dove right in and answered all of our questions and was extremely patient with us while we were sorting through our timeline. The second we got on the call with Joanna, we felt at ease and everything started feeling real and extremely exciting. We went from being completely clueless about what we were getting into, to having so much more clarity and information. We've been nonstop recommending Timbuktu to all of our friends that are looking to travel because we've enjoyed our experience so much and the planning process has been so easy and informative.

This was my very first time using a travel agent, and to be honest, I was initially so nervous about handing over total control of our trip to someone else. Timbuktu completely blew us away. I will definitely be using them again! Kristin was incredibly patient with us throughout the entire process. She helped plan our honeymoon with immense attention to detail, crafting it exactly how we wanted. She answered all of our questions with incredible care, always focusing on what was most important to us as a couple. Where Timbuktu really shines is execution. They facilitated all of our travel while we were in Africa, from transfers to bookings, and everything ran like clockwork. Traveling between destinations can be stressful, but our experience was entirely seamless. If you are hesitant about trusting someone else with your dream trip, rest assured you are in the best hands with Timbuktu. They took all the stress out of our honeymoon and left us with nothing but incredible memories. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

As I mentioned- everything was great. Super easy to work with Meg. the dashboard was pretty straightforward and informative. It was so wonderful being taken care of at every location- having someone meet us at the airport and show us all of the best things in each place. the tours were well thought out and well curated. I liked having tour guides that seemed to have secret handshakes to get us into super crowded lunch spots with our own reserved table- my husband felt like he was in the Godfather. :-)

I had an outstanding trip through Kenya and Rwanda, thanks to a well‑designed itinerary that matched my interests perfectly. Kristen, my agent, was incredibly detail‑oriented, accessible, and thoughtful in shaping the entire journey. Every part of the trip felt smooth and well supported, from city experiences to safari days to cultural sites. Accommodations were comfortable with warm hospitality. Overall the experience far exceeded my expectations. I returned home deeply moved and already planning to travel with this company again.

Jenna was a terrific travel advisor and very responsive and prompt to all of my questions. I would definitely recommend, and use, Timbuktu again in my travels. There were never any unanswered questions and I felt like she really offered me a personal touch when planning this epic journey.
