I am so grateful to have stumbled upon Timbuktu travel as I was making travel plans and searching for guidance planning a big trip abroad. We were looking at other travel companies and had gotten a couple of quotes for the safari portion of our trip and for visiting Vic Falls. Timbuktu's prices were so much more reasonable than other companies, and we were so pleased with all of our accommodations, transportation, and flights. Catherine's expertise was invaluable, and she delivered an incredible travel experience from start to finish! She followed through promptly with all communications, and the booking process was seamless. It was so helpful and reassuring to know she had stayed in each of the various accommodations we visited. Having logistics such as car service arranged at each destination allowed us to relax and truly enjoy our experience and time together as a family. Our flight was unexpectedly cancelled by the airline on the front end of the trip, resulting in us arriving in Cape Town two days late. Catherine was so responsive and helpful contacting the hotel and rearranging transportation. She monitored our rebooked flight to ensure we were met at the airport and transported promptly when we finally arrived. Catherine was FANTASTIC, and our full experience with Timbuktu was outstanding.

We are so happy with Timbuktu. I wanted to reserve my review until after the trip and now that we have returned I can wholeheartedly recommend Timbuktu. We travelled to South Africa (Cape Town and Mala Mala Game Reserve near Kruger) and to Zambia/Zimbabwe to see Victoria Falls. All the accommodations, transfers, and tours went smoothly and were great! Joanna was great to work with.

Timbuktu was extremely helpful when planning out our honeymoon! It was really fun to plan out the trip and be able to get insight and suggestions on all the places we wanted to visit beforehand. They have incredibly responsive customer service, and they are so knowledgeable about all of their destinations. We couldn't have planned our once in a lifetime trip without them, and we'll definitely be using them for trips in the future!!! Thank you Jenna, Annie, and Nadine!

This is our second trip with Timbuktu. The web site is an excellent way to preview many possibilities and get excited about your trip. Everything worked out smoothly. The suggestion to get VIP service to facilitate a domestic flight transfer was especially helpful: who knew South Africa requires a second security screening when changing domestic flights different from other countries.

Always love Timbuktu. The service is great, and they are very friendly. We had the most incredible help from Catherine our first time around, so Meg had big shoes to fill. This experience and trip were nearly as perfect as the last, so we have been recommending to friends and family for a while now. They definitely charge a premium, but the convenience and professionalism of their local partners can't be beat. They always find the most spectacular excursions and add little details to make your journey feel special.

We have just booked our second trip to Africa with Jonty. He has been great both times and our first trip was totally amazing. Very responsive and dependable and all details were in perfect order. All of the drivers and events and tours were solid.

As always, Timbuktu makes our trip planning easy and helps with every little detail along the way. FYI, Joanna is the best. We spent 12 days in Morocco and every riad was stunning, well located, with great food and attentive staff. Our driver for the trip was perfect with a friendly and helpful temperament. We visited all the sites with ease and enjoyed them all immensely. A truly wonderful trip. We have used Timbuktu previously for an amazing adventure in Kenya & Rwanda, will use them for Argentina this winter and for Cambodia the following winter. Their help and service is exceptional.
