I started researching this trip over 2 years ago. I came upon Timbuktu while researching various travel agencies. I was very impressed with being able to get a quote after I totally customized my itinerary. We dealt with Kristen & Daniel. Kristin was very knowledgeable about East Africa and helped us refine our trip and made it a once in a lifetime adventure. They check-in every so often over the 2 years and kept us informed of any changes. The local agencies they work with in Kenya, Tanzania & Uganda are experts regarding Safaris & Gorilla Trekking and they made our overall experience so much better. While on our trip, one of the airlines cancelled and rebooked one of our flights which would have caused us to miss out gorilla trekking. Daniel worked through the problem and got us back on track. I tell everyone about Timbuktu.

Tessa guided us thru different options and the price we picked was quite evident as we chose different options. Pickup snd drop off and transfers were well planned and very smooth. Our experience overall was great with a few things to improve . Thanks

Second time working with Catherine on a complex trip that changed several times and it has been an incredible experience. Excellent advice, fully focused on making it a fabulous trip. This is exactly why using a travel agent is worth it. I have been recommending Timbuktu to family and friends and will continue to do so

I’ve now had 2 trips booked with Timbuktu and both were almost perfect. I will definitely use them again if I have any future trips. Joanna actually helped me with both trips. She is quick to respond to all emails and is so pleasant to work with. I will definitely hope to work with her again!

We had an incredible experience with Tessa & Nathan in designing and executing our perfect anniversary trip to South Africa. Tessa was responsive, collaborative, and had amazing recommendations that ultimately made it our favorite trip we’ve ever taken. The logistics were seamless and planned perfectly so we never had to worry, and were able to optimize our time at each destination. The accommodations were beyond our expectations at every single stop and made the experience for us. Places we would not have found on our own without Tessa’s help! Specifically, Ant’s Nest in Waterberg & Dulini Moya in Sabi Sands were both easily 5 stars, we adored them both. Tintswalo Atlantic was another fantastic accommodation in Cape Town that was one of kind. We could not have loved each place more, and they got better and better with every stop. We cannot wait to book our next trip.

We really appreciate how you put so much and your hard work to put our holiday together. We will use Timbuktu again for our next family holiday. Thank you

Highly recommend using Timbuktu for planning a special vacation experience. Annie and the team were very helpful in answering our many questions and guiding us through the process and getting prepared for the trip. Will be recommending them for friends and family that want to schedule a future Safari or other big adventure.

Brilliant. Tessa’s attention to detail and the fact she listened, really listened ensured we had a dream holiday! It was a dream. Seamless, hassle free, exciting and exceptional. I would definitely recommend Timbuktu they were amazing!

Our experience with Timbuktu was absolutely fabulous. They were so responsive and accommodating throughout the entire process. We decided to go on Safari for our honeymoon and Tessa Dancer helped us find the perfect itinerary as well as helped us modify our trip a couple of times to help keep us within our budget. We would do this same trip start to finish all over again if we could. Thank you to Tessa for helping create one of the most amazing trips we could have asked for, we will recommend Timbuktu to everyone :)
