Jordan Trips & Tours

Ancient Petra might steal the headlines, but this compact kingdom's real magic lies in Bedouin tents, Dead Sea mud, and falafel worth fighting over.

Jordan punches well above its weight for a country you could drive across in a day (though you'd be mad to rush it). Yes, Petra's Treasury façade is magnificent (brace yourself for the selfie sticks), but beyond the rose-red city, the country unfolds in unexpected directions. Wadi Rum's rust-coloured moonscape makes you understand why film directors keep dragging Matt Damon here to play stranded astronauts, whilst the Dead Sea performs its party trick of keeping even the most determined sinkers afloat. Amman surprises with its limestone incredible—equal parts ancient citadel and artsy Rainbow Street—but what really gets under your skin is the hospitality. Jordanians have elevated welcome to an art form; you'll be drowning in tiny glasses of sage tea before you can say 'shukran'. The Bedouin, in particular, have this knack of making their goat-hair tents feel more luxurious than any five-star lobby, especially when the desert stars come out to play. Add in Aqaba's coral reefs, crusader castles perched on impossible hillsides, and the best hummus you'll taste outside of someone's grandmother's kitchen, and you've got a country that delivers far more than its modest size suggests.

Many international airlines have direct flights to AMM and Royal Jordanian Airlines offer international and domestic flights. It is easily accessible from Amman as it is located around 30 km south of the city. Transportation options from the airport include taxis, buses and car rentals. Access to Aqaba is easy with several public transportation options or private rentals.
