Awasi Atacama

11,000 years ago, the Atacama Desert was inhabited by hunter-gatherers, who then became the shepherds that once lived behind Awasi's ancient adobe walls. When the hotel was built, it stayed true to this legacy: the 12 suites are inspired by nearby Pre-Incan ruins and many of its dishes are prepared with ingredients that only grow in the wilds of the region. Beyond Awasi's walls lies one of the most scenic and surreal places in Chile, where unique wildlife wanders between the desert flora, and the moonlike landscape can be explored on foot, bicycle and horseback.
