About Awasi Iguazu

A divine, tree-top experience in the heart of lush Guarani country.
The setting for Awasi Iguazú is, for lack of a better word, magical. Sitting on a hillside on the banks of the Iguazú River, surrounded by nothing but tangled Atlantic rainforest and the creatures that inhabit it, this uber-luxurious lodge occupies a 25-acre plot of private natural jungle and offers a totally exclusive experience amongst the treetops. During the day, you'll embark on thoughtfully crafted activities with world-class guides, and in the evening, you'll return to a secluded villa - private pool included - enveloped in the leaves and branches, with only the tropical birds for company. And it's all just 20 minutes from Iguazú Falls!

Property details

The property

Beautiful basalt walkways connect Awasi’s buildings, all of which are hidden amidst the jungle greenery for full natural immersion. A spacious bar-meets-restaurant is housed in the main area, an open-plan, lofty-ceilinged cabin almost 10 metres from the forest floor, where plush sofas and wooden tables offer the perfect space for enjoying a glass of local vino and exchanging travel stories with fellow guests. The exquisite jungle-to-plate food showcases seasonal produce and is a delight to come back to after a busy day - and what better way to enjoy it than on the veranda under a canopy of lichen-lined trees? Jungle dining at its finest.

The rooms

Providing the utmost privacy, Awasi’s 14 stand-alone villas are spread throughout the rainforest, each offering a heavenly refuge in the trees. Wooden walls, Guarani-infused décor and soothing hues of white and earthy tones complement the tranquil vibes of the surroundings, and windows flank most of the wall space for non-stop luscious views - and that's even from the bathroom. A large bathtub, walk-in shower, a coffee corner and living room are all part of the 100m2 space, and to top it all off, there's an outdoor deck with sun loungers and the private plunge pool.

Activities

Working with renowned biologists and tourism professionals, Awasi has put a lot of effort into creating activities and excursions that allow their guests to discover the grandeur of the Atlantic rainforest, beyond just the Iguazú Falls. With a private guide that is both passionate and mind-blowingly knowledgeable, you’ll embark on kayaking adventures, boat trips, cultural encounters and jungle trails. With chances to see thousands of endemic species of flora and fauna, orchids, colourful birds, tapirs and even the odd puma or ocelot, you’ll never want to stop exploring.

What you'll love

What you'll love

The whole experience is unbelievably beautiful, but what makes it even better is that Awasi is officially carbon neutral. The lodge protects 340 hectares of native woodland in Iguazú and Patagonia, absorbing over 10,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.
Insiders tip

Insiders Tip

To best enjoy all the activities but also have time to soak up the lodge itself, we recommend spending at least three nights at Awasi. You won't regret it, we promise...
Something to think about

Something to think about

Most of Awasi’s included experiences require some degree of physical activity and plenty of outdoors time. If you’re looking for more of a laid-back affair with afternoons spent poolside with a book, you might not get the best value for money.
