The Manor House, with its original timber floors and high ceilings, feels like a true home from home the moment you step through the doors. The guest lounge and library (complete with a spectacular open fireplace) leads into a sunny breakfast room, and huge, sparkling windows overlook the gardens and swimming pool. Dinners are served in the elegant Bistro, accompanied by a selection of excellent wines from the cellar, and good, hearty pub meals are available at the Bell Tavern – Knysna’s smallest pub – or on the terrace.
In contrast to the original Manor House, the 28 garden cottages are modern and contemporary. Each has a wide veranda with an outdoor seating area (perfect for enjoying the blissful lagoon and garden views), a small living room, fully equipped kitchen and one or two en-suite bedrooms. You've got a choice of either a single or double storey cottage, and some have a third bedroom and even a dining room, making them ideal for a holiday with the kids.
Knysna is one of South Africa’s most popular holiday towns, with a huge choice of activities to suit all interests and ages. Water-based adventures include boat cruises on the lagoon and out to the Knysna Heads, canoe trips on the quiet inland waterways, fishing and swimming, with a host of more energetic options nearby, such as forest hikes, mountain biking and paragliding. The town itself has a wonderful selection of boutiques, markets, excellent restaurants, and a lively night life if you want to dance the night away.
