The main farmhouse offers a new take on an old classic, with rambling spaces and a veranda running its length. A deep stoep shelters you completely from the elements – there's even a four-poster queen-sized bed if you fancy sleeping outside. With a tin roof, shuttered sash windows and mahogany beams, the style is rustic-contemporary. There are a cosy lounges, and a large open kitchen that has it all (including a visiting pair of friendly Anatolian dogs, if you like).
The five bedrooms in the main house each have en-suite bathrooms and various accommodation options, from the master suite with dressing room (and single bed) to the family-sized room. While the decor in each is unique, all are decorated in a comfortably calm palette. The Nguni Cottage sits a good distance from the main house and is completely self-contained, with three large bedrooms and two baths, as well as a kitchen/dining area. Whichever suits you best, you won't be disappointed.
Surrounded by pristine and cultivated wilderness, Bobbejaanskloof combines both farmland and wilderness. Explore the indigenous fynbos and aloe garden, whose species reflect the variety of this stunning region in a neatly concentrated space. Watch the free-roaming Nguni cattle, a uniquely South African breed with incredible patterns and colours. For those keen to get active, there are 20 km of dirt and grass tracks for mountain biking and hiking into the kloof, and a 12 km running path.
