About COMO Metropolitan Bangkok

Contemporary, easygoing and central...The Metropolitan makes downtown exploring a breeze.
In a jungle of glassy highrises, The Metropolitan is a sleek hotel with cool interiors. Created in the image of both East and West, the hotel combines a crowd-drawing retro bar with minimalist rooms where relaxation is the first order of business. There are plenty of ways to do just that, whether it's a deep tissue massage or laying out by the pool, which feels perfectly hidden away from the city. Just outside, you'll step into downtown Bangkok with its buzzing nightlife scene. Ranking one of the best in Thailand, the Nahm Restaurant is worth staying 'home' for too.

Property details

The property

Treat your tastebuds at Nahm, which serves up a menu of Thai cuisine with a touch of innovation. The coconut, turmeric and crab curry comes highly recommended! The Met bar is an edgy blend of black leather armchairs and mood lighting with an array of delicious cocktails on offer. Breakfasts come in the form of a decent buffet with a range of classic and more inventive options. Rejuvenate at the spa with a Thai massage, calming yoga or a soak in the hydro pool.

The rooms

The rooms at The Metropolitan are simple in design with shades of black and white, warm wooden furnishings and plenty of natural light. Mustard-coloured rugs provide a pop of colour in the lounge and the large beds are wrapped in Egyptian cotton sheets. Some rooms also have a terrace and outdoor shower. The en-suite bathrooms are a mix of mosaic and limestone, with a walk-in shower and large bathtub. The suites upgrade their amenities to include a dining room and window seat. The COMO Suite is the fanciest with grand views, a kitchen and private butler.

Activities

Go adventuring around the nearby 'Village of Love', strolling past the larger-than-life murals of Charoenkrung street and dining at family-run street stalls. Silom's nightlife can't be left out, so why not enjoy the neon-lit city from the Sky Bar? If you venture further out, take a longtail boat along the canals to Old Town. Visit the Wat Arun temple in its mosaic coat of porcelain and the Grand Palace compound with over 1000 brightly-coloured structures. For an action-packed few hours, watch a Muay Thai boxing event at Lumpini Stadium.
