Originally built as a family home, you'll feel just like a friend coming to stay; enjoying the leafy garden and plentiful countryside jaunts. Begin your morning with the house special, 'Mother's omelette', and watch as the birdlife swoops over the lake or painted storks raise their wings to the sun. The property

The front steps lead past stone elephants onto the veranda which is decked out with wicker chairs and a sunny, central courtyard. With fresh ingredients from the kitchen garden, lunch can be enjoyed on the lawns overlooking the lake and home-style Mewari specialties are served in the casual dining room, accompanied by anecdotes from your hosts. Surrounded by swaying palms, the pool occupies a secluded spot in the garden and the spa room is at your disposal for a relaxing massage.

The rooms

With simple but lovely decor, the seven spacious suites each come with dark wood furnishings set against red and blue silks, with patterned carpets. En-suite bathrooms are decked out with marble counter tops and ornate mirrors, with Kama Ayurveda toiletries for your use. Each room has twin or king beds, cushy window seats, a writing desk and sitting area. Other amenities include a mini bar, pillow menu and tea/coffee facilities.

Activities
