About Fairview The Crags

A homely, family cottage with views to die for
Nestled between Plettenberg Bay and Nature's Valley is Fairview at the Crags. Owned and run by the historic Rattray family, the quaint house and cottage are located in a beautiful spot overlooking the Keurbooms indigenous forest as well as several mountain ranges. It's the ideal coastal getaway for families and small groups, and there are whale watching opportunities and lovely forest walks a mere 10 minute drive away. Make a day of it and spend a few hours doing both. There's also a couple of spectacular golf courses if you want to practice your swing and become a pro. Or simply relax in the beautiful fynbos garden and enjoy this magnificent part of South Africa.

Property details

The property

In the main house, the open plan kitchen/sitting room and inviting fireplace is a cosy place to cook and enjoy a glass of vino and a game of Uno. Outside, the covered veranda has a spectacular view of the landscape, best enjoyed on a balmy summer evening. Across the garden, the cottage has a similar spacious living area and excellent views, and there's a swimming pool that the two houses share. Both truly are a home from home.

The rooms

The main house has three bedrooms and is ideal for families. The master ensuite is on the ground floor and opens up onto a private verandah, while the two upstairs bedrooms share a bathroom. In the cottage, there's a large ensuite bedroom downstairs and two bedrooms upstairs, one of which also has an ensuite. All rooms are light, bright and airy, and decorated in a charming, country-style.

Activities

It's easy to lose track of time and spend hours in the swimming pool, gazing out at the fynbos garden, but make sure to take a leisurely walk around the surrounding forest and discover a little more of the beautiful area too. The two houses are perfectly situated for all the activities of the South Cape, including horse riding, game drives in the nearby reserves and boating, to surfing, hiking, golfing and fishing. The pristine unspoiled beaches of Nature’s Valley, and the incredible indigenous forest of Tsitsikamma are also only a few minutes drive away.
