Fasano São Paulo Itaim

Itaim Bibi pulses with a particular kind of energy – all late-night restaurants, designer boutiques, and a dining scene that takes itself just seriously enough. This is where São Paulo comes to eat exceptionally well, and it's fitting that a family who've been feeding the city since 1902 should plant their flag here. Vittorio Fasano arrived from Milan at the turn of the last century, and five generations later, the name still carries considerable weight. Architect Marcio Kogan of Studio MK27 has created something unmistakably Brazilian modernist – clean lines, natural materials, and that enviable ability to feel simultaneously polished and utterly relaxed. The 20-storey tower on Rua Pedroso Alvarenga nods to Italian heritage whilst feeling resolutely contemporary, a building that seems entirely at home in a neighbourhood where tradition and innovation have always made easy bedfellows.
